Our History
Speak Up Diversity led the charge on diversity and anti-racism in the City of York for many years. In 2021, Speak Up Diversity spearheaded the ambitious city-wide motion - Making York an Anti-Racist and Inclusive City. The motion was unanimously passed in 2021, making York the first city in the North of England to achieve this powerful status. The work continues with Inclusive Equal Rights UK 3.0.
Speak Up Diversity has now pivoted with a holistic Diversity, Equity and Fairness Model (DEFM) to work with businesses. Our DEFM can be tailored and adopted within your organisation to reap the performance, cognitive and financial rewards whilst doing the right thing.
We also offer help & support
Many suffer in silence with the impact of discrimination they face in the workplace, fearing of repercussions if they speak up about it.
We are proud to offer free support to those who feel they have been discriminated against. Some of the support includes free counselling to make sure the traumatic experience does not affect your well-being.
